Three tools keep a catalogue small and accurate: variations, units and modifiers.

Variations

A shirt in four sizes and three colours is one product with 12 variations, each with its own SKU, barcode, price and stock.

  1. Products → Variations → Add: create a template such as “Size” with S, M, L, XL.
  2. When adding a product, choose Variable and pick the templates.
  3. Set price and stock per combination.

Units

Sell rope by the foot, nails by the pound or the box, flour by the kilo. Create units under Products → Units, including sub-units with a conversion (1 box = 100 pieces). Combined with a label scale, weighed items scan at the counter.

Modifiers

Modifiers are extras added at the register: oat milk, extra shot, no onion. They can carry a price and they print on the kitchen or bar ticket. Create modifier sets under Restaurant → Modifiers and attach them to products. Available in food editions.

Lots and expiry

Grocery, bakery and florist editions can track lot numbers and expiry dates per purchase, with an expiry report.
