01How do I switch POS systems without losing data?
Export products, customers and stock from your old POS before you cancel it, import them into SmartPOS, and keep the old system running until you have checked everything. Keep its sales reports for your records; past sales are not moved.

02Does it cost anything to switch?
No. CSV import is free on every plan. Managed migration, where we do the import for you, is free with the bundle or any annual plan.

03How long does switching take?
For a small shop, an afternoon. A large catalogue takes longer, mostly cleaning up the spreadsheet.

04Will my barcodes still scan?
Yes. Import the barcodes with your products and existing labels keep working.

05Can you move my sales history?
Past sales are not imported. Keep your old system's reports or export them before you cancel.

06What about gift card balances?
We re-issue them as balances on a custom payment type during a migration call.

07Can I keep my card reader?
If it comes from a processor that works independently of your old POS software, often yes. Readers tied to a POS brand (Square, Clover, Toast) stay with that brand.

Any system that exports to CSV or Excel. Most do: Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Shopify, Toast and many local systems.
